SUSTAINABILITY

Built to leave things better.

Tapex Group takes a long-term view on everything it builds, and that applies to the environments and communities we operate in. This section covers how we invest in sustainable products, how we manage our environmental footprint, and how we give back to the communities where we work.

ENVIRONMENTAL

How we approach sustainability

Sustainability at Tapex Group is not a standalone programme. It is built into the products we develop, the way we run our operations and the causes the Rossi family has chosen to support.

compostable cropping twine

Champions For Circular Economy

Tapex Group's New Zealand based company, Earthtwine, manufactures compostable growing twines. These products replace conventional plastic crop support products across commercial horticulture in Australia and New Zealand.

Plasback recycling program truck

Plastic Recycling

The Plasback programme, New Zealand's largest agricultural plastic recycling scheme, was established by Tapex and Agpac in 2009. The business has now helped to remove millions of plastics from rural environments, and promoted circular economy with waste converted into durable, end products suitable for farming.

Solar powered car on quiet country road

Clean Energy Advocacy

Tapex has installed 110 kW of solar at its Kingsgrove head office, reducing the site's reliance on grid electricity across its manufacturing and warehousing operations. All employees have access to free EV charging on site, and the Group runs three company-owned electric vehicles out of Kingsgrove.

COMMUNITY

Investing in the people and places we operate in.

The Rossi family has always believed that a business which takes from a community has an obligation to give back to it. That shows up in two ways: the organisations the Group supports across health, education and local sport, and how it treats the people who work there.

OUR TEAMS

Our people.

Tapex operates across Australia, New Zealand and Scotland. Each location is run by a local team with long tenure and deep sector expertise. The Group is structured flat, so people at every level have direct access to decision-making. Contributions are visible, accountability sits close to the work, and the Group invests in the tools, training and environment to support that.

----

GOVERNANCE

A private company holding itself publicly accountable

Tapex Group is privately owned by Philip Rossi. For a family-owned business, governing through a board of independent directors is a deliberate choice. It introduces external accountability that is not legally required for a private company of this size, and that most comparable businesses do not have in place.
